Meet Yoda of Weddings aka Sue Taylor


Hi, my name is Sue and I am the owner of Sue Taylor Photography, Elope or Wed with a Twist and the author of Everything you need for your Wedding day and How to hold a wedding during a Pandemic. I wear many hats and this is why they call me "Yoda of Weddings” and the Wedding Guru.

A little about me...I'm a mother of 2 fur babies, Chewbacca & Hans Solo (aka Chewy and Solo) who lives with her partner in the beautiful Hunter Valley winery region in NSW, Australia. I love weddings, being super organised and creative, hanging out with my partner and fur babies, Irish breakfast tea, healthy food and chilling on the couch watching reality tv.


Career wise… where do I begin? I started my hairdressing apprenticeship

when I was 13 and by the time I was 17 I was manger of a salon then by the age of 19 was General Manager of 13 salons in Adelaide. I moved to the Gold Coast some years later and opened up my own hair salon and also started my own chemical free hair, skin and body care range.


Those feet of mine started itching again and next stop was Sydney were I became the General Manger of a music and film Arts Academy and then onto General Manager of the largest recording studio and scoring stage in the Southern Hemisphere at Fox Studios. Across this time I was also a tv presenter working on many different tv shows and commercials.


I found my passion for photography, so I bought my kit, left my job and taught myself how to be a photographer. Not long after I was commissioned to shoot a globally selling book and travelled across 9 countries in 21 days to complete my brief. Photography led me to weddings, where I found my true calling.


These days you’ll find me busy at a beautiful wedding venue nestled in the Hunter Valley wine region planning around 3 weddings a week all year round. I don’t shoot as much as I used to as I am so busy planning, but I still do pick up my camera from time to time. Somehow through all this I managed to find the time to write a couple of books.


So here I am, Yoda of Weddings and I’m here to share all my vast knowledge with you all.
